Fatbikes can be insured. For Brekr’s F250, you have the following options:
Interpolis
(for Rabobank customers)
Interpolis is an innovative insurance company and offers fatbikes riders neat and solid insurance with worldwide coverage, up to 3 years of new-for-old value and no deductible in case of theft.
The premium varies, based, for example, on your zip code and, of course, the value of your e-bike.
You are insured in case of:
- theft when using an ART2 lock and an active track & trace system approved by Fris Netherlands. The Brekr connectivity subscription meets these requirements
- damage to your fatbike due to a collision or impact
- damage because your fatbike falls over or gets off the road
- damage to accessories (bike seat, luggage bags and baskets, extra lights)
- damage to the battery of your fatbike
- breakdown and damage assistance in the Netherlands
Note that you are not insured if your fatbike is tuned.

Centraal Beheer
(for everyone)
Centraal Beheer (even Apeldoorn bellen) offers all consumers solid insurance for fatbikes with roadside assistance and good coverage. You choose the deductible (25, 150 or 300 euros) and whether you want 1 or 3 years of new value in the event of theft or damage.
The premium varies based on zip code, age and options chosen.
You are insured in case of:
- Theft when using a lock with ART2 certification. In addition, you must have an active track and trace subscription with detection by Fris Netherlands. The Brekr connectivity subscription meets these requirements.
- Collision damage.
- Damage if your bicycle falls over or goes off the road.
- 24/7 roadside assistance in the Netherlands.
- Battery and accessories.
- If you lend your bike.
Note that you are not insured if your fatbike is tuned.

Track and trace required
All current insurers require an active track and trace subscription for fatbikes. Brekr has been working with an advanced system and tracking by Fris Netherlands since its inception.
The Brekr connected subscription offers:
- Sim card from KPN with subscription
- Always connected to your F250 or B4000
- Convenient features such as battery level check, geo-fencing and statistics
- Through the app, you can instantly report theft after which Fris immediately starts tracking.
- Theft detection included
- Required when purchasing insurance from Centraal Beheer and Interpolis.
- The complete service costs 8.25 per month (99 euros per year).
- We offer the tracker itself at a low rate. The first year you pay 199 euros. That’s for the tracker, installation and 1 year of subscription and tracking service.
